Some Wicked Beat...

Wicked Beat - Olivia Cunning

3.5 stars...

“You’re like Mr. Romance and Mr. Porn Star wrapped in one.”

I love this cover and I love Eric Sticks! If you've read the previous Sinner's books then you know that Eric is the guy that likes to watch all this bandmates have sex, he doesn't participate. Everything changes in Wicked Beat. I'll admit, I never understood why Eric was always a watcher, he's hot, smart and great with the ladies. You're not getting any spoilers from my review so make sure and read this book to find out why...

What I loved!

I enjoyed the story, once we got to around the half way mark. I read this series not for the hot factor but for the relationship between the Sinner bandmates. Each of them is so different and damaged. They each bring something to the band that is unique but also needed. Eric is one of the members who underestimates his worth to the band. He's just lucky to be playing drums and making a living off it. His past has left him feeling abandoned and not lovable. When he meets Rebekah, he's instantly attracted to her in a different kind of way. Eric wants to protect and take care of her, this is such a new feeling for him. As the relationship progresses it's those natural honest moments that they share that I loved. It's really my favorite part of the book.

I did love all the dress up, it made me laugh so hard at time and it was just plain hot! Rebekah is everything that Eric needed. Eric is everything the Rebeckah needed.

“Let’s play cops and robbers when we get home. You can pretend I’m a jewel thief and handcuff me. Show me your long arm of the law until I confess to crimes I never committed.”

Not my favorite moments

Without giving anything away, I felt at times that Rebeckah pushed the envelope with Eric. Trey was involved in some of their earlier activities but he just didn't fit into how I viewed their relationship. I felt like Ms. Cunning was doing this just for the wow factor. It sort of pissed me off. There was also an incident with Jon and it was brushed off as nothing. The ending was rushed and I wanted more of Rebeckah and Eric being alone without the band. Having said that I know what a huge part Sinners plays in both their lives.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this addition to the Sinner's series. It;s not my favorite book but I thought the sex in this book was very hot. I enjoyed getting to know Eric more and I cannot wait to see whats in store for Trey.
