Lying Season (Experiment in Terror, #4)

Lying Season (Experiment in Terror, #4) - Karina Halle Well that was an ending... I had sort of been waiting for *Hides in the corner and cries*. Let me start at the beginning. This is the book fans of Experiment in Terror have been waiting for or at least part of it or well all of it or now i'm rambling...In this 4 installment of the loved Experiment in Terror, Lying Season the dynamic duo is back, now hitting the street of Seattle and about to take this show into a rumored haunted mental institution. But first we find Perry, staying at Jenn and Dex's apartment... can you say 'awkward'. In fact most of this books gives you that pit in the stomach feeling right before everything goes to hell. Dex & Perry are flirty, snarky, still have amazing eye contact and that sexy connection all with Jenn around. It's crazy, this book is crazy and so much happens and I cannot talk about it here... Basically, Ms. Halle takes our 4 book arc and throws that out the window. She takes Dex & Perry and leads them to the edge then just pushes us over right with them. **spoilers**I had some real issues with a few things. Don't read this spoiler unless you've read Lying Season.1. Perry switching Dex meds - holy crap, she doesn't know what she's doing and he could have gotten very ill. I also believe this will only come back to bit Perry in the ass as their relationship hopefully progresses.2. The Lying... i know it's in the title but damn, could we just yell from the rooftops "I LOVE YOU DEX." 3. That ending... I mean, i'm so pissed and I want to cry and yell and make it not be so. At the same time I undertand why Dex is scared. No condom, baby Dex & Perry? Now i'm just dreaming. 4. Perry getting on Putt Putt and going home in a snow storm and drunk. That's crazy and I half expected her to be killed. Talk about pins and needles (wait that's another Halle book)The writing and storyline in Lying Season is the best in the series. Hands down 5 creepy stars and will be added to my favorite book this year. I think what draws me to these characters is the 'real' feeling you get while reading them. They're flawed, so damaged and a past that would scare the crap out of a normal suiter but for Perry & Dex this unique quality they share makes the connection they feel towards each other so much more. To be yourself with someone else is the ultimate connections. To see ghosts and be able to share that with another person has only brought Dex and Perry closer over the last 4 books.I loved the introduction of the shownet crew, this series was so focused on Dex and Perry that it was missing the friendship and day to day life connections for each character. You almost fall more in love with this series because of all the quirky characters. I can't wait to read more about Rebecca & Emily. Love them! In conclusion, I don't know where Ms. Halle is taking us... I have a hope and a dream but I don't know how long it will take for these two to get there. I know this sounds crazy, but in a way I feel like i'm going a little mad reading this series. In fact I can't stop. I'm twitchy and anxious... I can't be the only one, right?Off to start [b:On Demon Wings|13442031|On Demon Wings (Experiment in Terror, #5)|Karina Halle|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1331704748s/13442031.jpg|18949847]
